South Puget Sound Community College has over 200 full time employees, composed of administrative/exempt professionals, full time faculty and full time classified staff. In addition, we have over 500 part time employees (faculty and hourly) who are invaluable in helping us meet our daily mission.

Administrative positions are typically presidents/vice presidents, associate deans and directors of major areas or major programs.


Classified - application (pdf)
Classified employees are state employees governed by Higher Education Merit System Rules (WAC 251). These jobs are typically secretarial/clerical, custodian/maintenance, library technicians, instructional technicians, computer support, program assistants and program coordinator positions.

South Puget Sound Community College employs only U.S. citizens and aliens authorized to work in the United States. As a condition of employment, new employees must provide proof of identity and employment eligibility.


Full Time Faculty - application (pdf)
This category includes full time, tenure track academic and vocational instructional positions, as well as counselors and librarians.

Major recruitment efforts are held in the Winter for the upcoming Fall quarter although vacancies occasionally occur out of cycle.


Part Time Faculty - application (pdf)
South Puget Sound Community College accepts unsolicited and solicited applications throughout the year for adjunct (part-time) faculty positions. As vacancies or the need for substitutes occur, the applications are screened and qualified applicants contacted as appropriate.

Applicants must possess a master's degree to teach in an academic program or a vocational equivalency to qualify for our vocational programs. You may apply for any area in which you feel qualified and, on the application clearly state the area of interest/expertise. Once received, each application is filed by subject area and retained for one year. If you are qualified to teach more than one area, it is to your advantage to complete multiple applications, each geared toward a specific subject area.


Part Time Hourly - application (pdf)
This category includes a variety of temporary positions at the college which are paid comparable to office assistants, custodial and maintenance positions, program assistants, instructional technicians, etc. These positions are generally limited to no more than 69 hours per month and do not provide benefits.
