College to hold worker retraining orientations
South Puget Sound Community College will hold orientations for unemployed workers and displaced homemakers who may be eligible for help through the college's Worker Retraining Program.
The orientations will be held on the college campus, in Building 22, Room 200A, at the following dates and times:
Wednesday, February 2 - 2:00 p.m.
Friday, February 11 - 1:00 p.m.
Wednesday, February 16 - 3:00 p.m.
Tuesday, February 22 - Noon
Wednesday, March 2 - 2:00 p.m.
Unemployed workers who are drawing unemployment benefits or who have exhausted unemployment benefits in the last 24 months may qualify for the Worker Retraining Program.
A displaced homemaker is defined as anyone who has worked for more than three years in the home while being financially dependent on another family member's income, and who has lost that income due to separation, divorce, death or the disability of the family member.
