Scholarships available at South Puget Sound
OLYMPIA, Washington – Scholarships to attend South Puget Sound Community College are now available through the College Foundation, the college’s development office. Graduating high school seniors and other students who are currently enrolled or will be enrolling at South Puget Sound Community College fall quarter 2006 are eligible. This year, the Foundation is offering more than $200,000 in scholarship awards for all academic disciplines.
Local businesses, organizations, individuals and event supporters have donated money to the College Foundation to help support students who want to attend the community’s college. Their gifts have created more than 240 scholarships and grants to provide tuition assistance for students with financial need and/or students who are academic achievers.
Applications and scholarship booklets are available at the college’s Financial Aid Office, located in Building 25 on the college’s main campus, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 pm Monday and Tuesday or 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday. High school counseling and career centers in the college’s service district also maintain supplies of booklets. A downloadable application form, along with descriptions of all scholarships, is available on the College Foundation’s Web site, www.spscc.ctc.edu/foundation. Applications are due April 10. Students need to fill out only one application; that application will be considered for all scholarships for which the students are eligible.
