Explore eBay business strategies at South Puget Sound
OLYMPIA, Washington – Learn just what it takes to develop a home-based business through online auction site eBay with two classes offered this spring through South Puget Sound Community College’s Community Education program.
"The Basics of Selling on eBay for a Home Based Business" outlines the basics of selling items on eBay, from opening an account and conducting research to creating listings and setting prices. Information on writing item descriptions and using photography to enhance listings is also provided, as is a tutorial of transaction system PayPal. The four-week class runs from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesdays, beginning April 4. The course fee is $75 and includes textbook and handouts.
"Starting a Home Based Business with eBay" builds on basic eBay skills to help participants jumpstart home-based businesses. Topics include goal setting, start-up requirements and business tenets, as well as developing a business plan and organizational and management infrastructures. The four-week class runs from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesdays, beginning May 9. The course fee is $105 and includes textbook and handouts.
Both courses take place at South Puget Sound’s Hawks Prairie Center (1401 Marvin Rd. NE, Lacey), Room 109. A discounted fee of $162 is available for enrollment in both classes. Experience with Windows platforms and Internet search engines is required. Instructor Steve Gehrke is an Education Specialist certified by eBay.
