College to hold 32nd annual spring plant sale May 12 and 13

The tradition continues at South Puget Sound Community College as the college’s Horticulture Program sponsors its 32 annual plant sale, just in time for Mother’s Day.

The sale will take place Friday, May 12, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday, May 13, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the campus greenhouse.

The fare at the sale continues to expand and diversify. Shoppers should find a selection of student-produced plants, hanging baskets, herbs, annuals and perennials. There will also be original metal garden art and trellises created by the college’s Welding Club. For the first time, original ceramic pots will be on sale. The pots were created by art students in the college’s new ceramic art studio.

Horticulture faculty and students will be on hand to answer customer questions about gardening.

Shoppers should come early for the best selections. For more information, call 360-596-5219.
