South Puget Sound Community College debuts its first production in its Black Box Theatre with House of Yes on Friday, October 28, 2005, at 8:00 p.m.
House of Yes, written by Wendy MacLeod is a dark comedy revolving around a pair of siblings' obsession with the Kennedy Assassination. When the mentally imbalanced Jackie-O discovers her twin brother Marty is engaged to the woman he brings home for Thanksgiving, humor and danger unfolds.
"… a fascinating blend of frivolous family politics and menacing political allegory…. It is wickedly funny, disturbing and vividly written," said the San Francisco Chronicle. Though the play is a comedy, it is geared toward a mature audience.
House of Yes will run Friday, Oct. 28-30 and Nov. 2, 4 and 5 at 8 p.m., and Oct. 29, 30 and Nov. 5 at 2p.m. The production is directed by student Robert McConkey.
Tickets are $10 general admission and $5 for students with valid ID, plus service fees. Tickets are available at the door, or by calling 360-596-5501. For event information, call Cassie Welliver at 360-596-5508.
