Marriage and family scholar Stephanie Coontz to speak at South Puget Sound

Local marriage and family scholar Stephanie Coontz, Ph.D., will visit South Puget Sound Community College to discuss the realities of family life, both historical and current, on Nov. 22 at noon on the Center for the Arts main stage.

Nationally renowned for her research, Coontz is the author of several books on marriage and family, including The Way We Never Were: American Families and the Nostalgia Trap and, most recently, Marriage, A History: From Obedience to Intimacy, or, How Love Conquered Marriage. Coontz currently teaches at The Evergreen State College.

The lecture is sponsored by the South Puget Sound Psychology Club. Admission is free.
