South Puget Sound Theatre Department ready for next performance
South Puget Sound Community College’s Kenneth J. Minnaert Center for the Arts presents the college’s Theatre Department in “You Can’t Take it With You.”
The play, written by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman and directed by Ronald Welch, offers a touching and hilarious look at the challenges faced by two young lovers who come from very different families. Alice Sycamore’s family has its eccentricities, including a printing press in the parlor and a fireworks factory in the basement. She falls in love with Tony Kirby, who brings his stuffy family to dinner at the Sycamores’ house one inauspicious evening. The ensuing events shock the Kirbys and jeopardize Alice’s hopes of marrying Tony.
Showtimes are Feb. 22-24, March 2, 3, 8 p.m. and Feb. 25, March 4, 2 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at www.spscc.ctc.edu/CFA or by calling 360-596-5501. Prices are $10 for general admission and $5 for seniors, students, and South Puget Sound staff.
