Dave Holland Quintet hits South Puget Sound Community College
At 8 p.m. on March 26, the JazzArts Series at South Puget Sound Community College’s Kenneth J. Minnaert Center for the Arts continues with a performance by the Dave Holland Quintet
The band produces music that resonates with the public and critics alike. Its last two albums, “Points of View” and “Prime Directive,” earned Grammy nominations. Also, Holland was voted the number one bass player in the Down Beat Critics’ Poll for three years in a row. Band members include Robin Eubanks on trombone, Steve Nelson on vibes, Chris Potter on alto and soprano sax, and Nate Smith on drums.
Saxophonist Bert Wilson opens for the quintet. Throughout his career, Wilson has won high praise from some of jazz’s biggest names.
