JazzArts Series goes out swingin’ at South Puget Sound Community College

For its final installment of this season’s JazzArts Series, South Puget Sound Community College’s Kenneth J. Minnaert Center for the Arts hits a high note with Vocal Summit on April 21 at 8 p.m.

The event brings together three of the West Coast’s finest jazz vocalists: Greta Matassa, Earshot Magazine’s four-time best jazz vocalist, Dennis Hastings, who is considered by many the number one male jazz vocalist in the Northwest today, and Patrick Tuzzolino, a veteran of the jazz scene who has performed and recorded with legends Herbie Hancock, Branford Marsalis, the Count Basie Alumni Band, Stevie Wonder, and Sarah Vaughn. Supported by a talented group of regional musicians, including Darin Clendenin on piano, Steve Luceno on bass, Steve Bentley on drums, Jim Pribbenow on saxophone, Amy Omdahl and Syd Potter on trumpet, Richard Lopez on trombone, and Michael Olson on congas, the three performers offer up an extraordinary concert.

Tickets can be purchased at www.spscc.ctc.edu/CFA or by calling 360-596-5501. Prices are $20 for general admission, $15 for seniors and South Puget Sound staff, and $10 for students.
