“Doubt” to play at South Puget Sound Community College
The 2007-08 theatre season at South Puget Sound Community College’s Kenneth J. Minnaert Center for the Arts kicks off with the Theatre Department’s performance of “Doubt.”
Set in a Catholic church in the Bronx, N.Y., John Patrick Shanley’s drama portrays a strong-minded nun’s struggles with conscience and uncertainty. She confronts a priest over the nature of his relationship with a boy. When he denies her charges, the stage is set for an intense look at issues of religion, morality and authority. The play won the 2005 Pulitzer Prize for drama and the 2005 Tony Award for best play.
