South Puget Sound Community College’s Theatre Department presents Living Out

This fall, director Don Welch and the actors in South Puget Sound Community College’s Theatre Department address the timely subject of immigration with their performance of “Living Out.”

As immigration topics kindle sweeping passion in the United States, “Living Out” offers a view of how such issues can impact people on personal levels. Written by Lisa Loomer, the play mixes comedy and tragedy as it depicts the interactions between Ana, an illegal immigrant from El Salvador, and Nancy, her Anglo-American employer. The women, separated by social status, prejudice, and misconceptions but linked by the choices they must make, are challenged by their complicated relationship.

Performances will be at the Black Box Theater in the Minnaert Center for the Arts Nov. 9-11, 17, and 18 at 8 p.m. and Nov. 11, 12, 18, and 19 at 2 p.m. General audience tickets cost $10 while tickets for students, staff, and seniors are $5. Tickets are available on-line through the Minnaert Center Web site, www.spscc.ctc.edu/CFA, or by calling 360-596-5501.
