South Puget Sound Community College to present “Broadway and Beyond II”

Members of the South Puget Sound Community College Theatre Program will perform in “Broadway and Beyond II,” an ensemble musical-revue/dinner-theater event, in the college’s Kenneth J. Minnaert Center for the Arts on May 15-17 at 8 p.m. and on May 17 and 18 at 2 p.m.

The performance is the sequel to 2006’s popular “Broadway and Beyond.” It will give the program’s students a chance to display their talents in an eclectic mix of songs from Broadway and popular music in the intimate setting of the Minnaert Center’s Black Box Theater. Theatre Professor Don Welch will direct the show, which will feature a full band. Pianist Claudia Simpson-Jones will provide musical direction and grand piano accompaniment.

The show will include a cabaret-style, dinner-theater setting with food served by the Culinary Arts Program. Dinner will be served one hour prior to the curtain time, and dessert will be served at intermission.

Tickets for the event can be purchased at www.spscc.ctc.edu/CFA or by calling 360-596-5501. Prices are $30 for general admission; $20 for seniors, state workers, military personnel with ID, South Puget Sound faculty and staff, and students who choose to have the meal; and $10 for students who choose not to have the meal.
