South Puget Sound Community College, Saint Martin’s University and Opera Pacifica collaborate for production of “Fiddler on the Roof”

In November, the South Puget Sound Community College Theatre Department, the Saint Martin’s University Department of Theatre Arts and Opera Pacifica team up to perform “Fiddler on the Roof.” All performances will be on the main stage in the Kenneth J. Minnaert Center for the Arts on South Puget Sound’s main campus.

The musical tells the story of a man struggling to maintain his family and religious customs in the face of a rapidly changing world. Its universal themes have brought it worldwide success. The original production won nine Tony Awards in 1965 and became the first Broadway show to surpass 3,000 performances.

Showtimes are Nov. 8-10, 15-17, 8 p.m. and Nov. 11, 18, 2 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at www.spscc.ctc.edu/CFA or by calling 360-596-5501. Prices are $15 for general admission; $10 for seniors, state workers, military personnel with ID, and South Puget Sound faculty and staff; and $5 for students. The Nov. 8 and Nov. 15 shows are “pay what you can” at the door; those two shows have no pre-sale tickets available.
