Art of Northwest Designer Craftsmen at South Puget Sound Community College
The December exhibit at the gallery in South Puget Sound Community College’s Kenneth J. Minnaert Center for the Arts features artists from the Northwest Designer Craftsmen Group. A reception from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Dec. 7 opens the exhibit, which runs through Dec. 29.
With “High Tech/Low Tech” as the theme, the artists create artwork that combines or contrasts high technology with traditional, low-tech art. The Northwest Designer Craftsmen Group was founded to establish high standards of design, workmanship and business practices among craftsmen. Members include artists from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Alaska. They work in clay, wood, glass, metal, fiber and/or mixed media.
Hours for the gallery at the Minnaert Center are Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 5 p.m.
