An
introduction to buying and selling using the Internet. Begins with basics of
Internet commerce and explores how it has developed into a range of new channels
to sell products and services. Various strategies and business models are
identified and analyzed with respect to the potential values and costs that they
entail. Key issues such as brand development and the use of the Internet for
advertising are examined. Legal and social ramifications of e-commerce are also
considered. Prerequisite: None.

Analysis of the functions of management, including planning, problem solving, decision making, organizing, leading, directing, motivating and controlling. Special emphasis will be on current management issues

BUS 288 Performing Arts Management 5 Credits
An application course that integrates accounting, data processing, marketing, and general management business concepts to provide students with hands-on project management experience. Team-building, ethics, and presentation skills are emphasized. Familiarity with accounting, art, business, software applications, music and/or theater is required.
Prerequisite: ENGL& 101 or WRIT 101 required. ACCT& 201 or ACCT 201,
BUS& 101 or BUS 101, CIS 141, or THEA 101, MUSC 101 recommended.
BUS 289 Integrated Business Applications 5 Credits
A capstone course that integrates accounting, data processing and business concepts to create solutions to complex business problems. Teambuilding, ethics and presentation techniques are considered. Ability to use a spreadsheet program is required. NOTE: BUS 289 should be taken by business and accounting students who are within two quarters of graduation. Prerequisite: Completion of two of the following with "C" or better: BUS& 101 or BUS 101, ACCT& 201 or ACCT 201, ACCT 203.
