Theatre as an art form with emphasis on the play in production, roles
of various theatre artists (actors, directors, designers, and playwrights),
and history of the influence of different cultures, traditions, and technologies
on the development of the theatre. Prerequisite: None.

DRMA 150 Theatre Movement and Dance 5
credits
Build basic skills, strength, coordination and reason necessary for performing
on stage. This lecture and activity course will instruct in the fundamentals
of musical and non-musical theatre dance styles, tumbling, stage combat,
whole body awareness and dramatic characterization. Prerequisite: None.

DRMA 160 Acting I 5 credits
Develops basic skills through monologue work, direct application of methodology
through scene work and preparation of audition material and scene work
within the context of the entire play. Covers the theory and practice
of fundamentals of American "Method" based on the principles
of Stanislavsky, Boleslavsky and Hagan and their American evolution. Prerequisite:
None.

DRMA 251 Directing 5 credits
The study of the Directors craftsmanship involved in a Theatrical
production with specific focus on learning fundamentals of script analysis,
conceptualization, casting, staging, actor coaching and design collaboration.
Prerequisite: Acting III or permission of the instructor.
