South Puget Sound Community College

Winter Quarter 2007

Study Abroad in Australia and New Zealand

The Australia and New Zealand Study Abroad program runs every winter quarter. The courses are specially chosen to give participants interesting, valuable and relevant instruction that exposes students to the cultural, history, fauna and geological differences that make Australia and New Zealand unique.

For the first six weeks, students will study at the Newman College, part of the University of Melbourne, and stay in dormitories. There, they will have the rare opportunity to experience Aboriginal cultural sites and study a variety of native animals through class and field studies. Next students fly to Auckland, New Zealand, for four weeks. They will take their classes at Unitec University, one of New Zealand's top educational institutions, witch has a large international population. Students will stay with host families or in student housing (to be determined).

Program cost: Approx. $6,600
