REGISTRATION

Graduates please register the number of guests you expect to attend at: Register For Commencement Online Now!

PARKING

Parking permits are not required.  Parking lots “D” and “29” are best suited to park closer to the ceremony.  A drop-off area for graduates and guests with limited mobility is available in parking lot “D”. Adequate disability parking is available on campus. Arrive early for best possible parking and seating. Sign Ushers are available to assist with open seating for guests. Language interpreters will be signing during ceremony. For more information on disability parking see SPCC Campus Map at: http://www.spscc.ctc.edu/map-and-directions. Special Seating is available during the ceremony for those who need disability accommodations. GRADUATES REQUIRED TO SIGN-IN

You must sign in by 5:30 PM at the tables located inside the gymnasium, Building 31, to receive your Sign-In card listing your name and degree or certificate you are earning. You’ll hand this Sign-In card to reader as you cross the stage during ceremony. All graduates participating in the Commencement Ceremony will wear the traditional Cap and Gown available in the Bookstore.

PROCESSIONAL

Staff members will help you line up for the processional beginning at 5:30 PM in the Gym.  The line-up order of processional is:  1) administrators and faculty and stage guests 2) graduates in single file. Graduates may line up with friends in any order you wish. You will receive further instructions when you arrive in the Gym. Ushers will provide direction throughout the ceremony. 

RECESSIONAL

The ceremony will end with the formal recessional.  The president will lead the platform party from the stage.  Please remain in your seats until the platform party has cleared the area.  Once the platform party has exited, the ceremony has officially concluded and you may then greet your guests.  The ceremony traditionally lasts until approximately 7:30 p.m.

PHOTOS

A professional photographer will take your photo during the ceremony as you cross the stage and exit stage with your diploma. The Photographer will send you an email which will include promotional information for ordering photographs online. Photographer will be on campus from 3:30 pm until 5:00 pm for individual sessions – meet at entry to gymnasium, Building 31.

RECEPTION

A reception following the ceremony will be held in your honor in the area next to building 32.  Light refreshments will be served.  Graduates and guests are cordially invited to attend. Graduation information phone line is 596-5520.

IN EVENT OF RAIN

No change will occur Rain or Shine.  Please bring precautions such as umbrellas, towels to wipe chairs, etc.

LOCKER ROOM

for showering and changing clothes is available in GYM building 31.  Locker space is not available.

TELEVISION

The ceremony will be taped by TCTV.  A schedule of viewing times will be available at: http://www.tctv.net/

DONATION OPPORTUNITIES

Food Drive Collection Bins for Thurston County Food Bank will be available on site at the Ceremony. Students who wish to donate their cap and gown after the ceremony will have opportunity to do so in designated collection bins.

The campus bookstore is selling cap, gown, and tassel for $29.99. Purchase early to ensure proper size & fit. The Bookstore is located in the Student Union Building 27 Mon - Thurs: 7:30am - 6:00pm, Fri: 7:30am - 5:00pm.
