Professional/Technical Students Pursuing an Associate of Applied Science Degree/Certificate
If the student has declared and is registered in an AAS degree or certificate program, he/she may qualify for specially funded tutoring assistance through the Carl D. Perkins Vocational & Technical Education Act. If a student is enrolled in an AAS/certificate class but has not officially declared an AAS/certificate program or is not coded with Enrollment Services as an AAS/certificate student, the student should go to Enrollment Services to declare his/her intention as a professional/technical major. Once the student has declared intent, he/she should see the instructor of the class in which assistance is needed. The instructor would then make the appropriate referral to the Office of Instructional Planning and Development. Staff will contact the referred student to verify eligibility and to match the student with an appropriate tutor.
