Timeline for 2011-12 Supplemental Budget Reductions

 
October 2011

• Board of Trustees confirms strategic priorities and establishes guiding principles.
• President establishes budget committee membership.
• College Relations establishes a communication plan and a site for budget committee data and reports.
• President’s Staff establishes ground rules, organizes their unit teams, and begins the work of creating budget reduction ideas.
• President’s Staff develops a tool to evaluate programs and services for reduction or elimination to be presented to College Council.  October 26
• CHRO meets with Union Management teams to review process.

November 2011

• President provides update at all campus forum. November 9
• College unit teams work at creating budget reduction ideas. Work completed by November 30

 December 2011

• Budget Committee Meeting #1 – Friday, December 2, 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
  • Agenda: Introductions, Purpose and charge to the committee, College finance and budget information, Establish work plan
  • Budget Committee Meeting #2 – Friday, December 9, 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
    • Agenda: Analyze and discuss proposed budget reduction ideas.

January 2012

• Budget Committee Meeting #3 – Friday, January 13, 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
  • Agenda: Analyze and discuss proposed budget reduction ideas.
  • Budget Committee Meeting #4 – Friday, January 20, 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
    • Agenda: Prioritize proposed budget reduction ideas.
    • Budget Committee Meeting #5, if needed – Friday, January 27, 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
      • Agenda: Finalize budget reduction recommendations.
      • President gives update to Board of Trustees. January 10
      • College Council reviews Budget Committee report; sends recommendation to President. January 25
      • Communication plan in process.

February 2012

• President gives update at all campus forum. February 8
• President sends budget recommendation to Board of Trustees, first reading. February 9
• Communication plan in process.

March 2012

• Board of Trustees approves supplemental budget changes. March 8
• Communication Plan in process.
