Excellence is at the heart of what we do
Take a look at just some of the achievements of staff and students at South Puget Sound Community College:
Home of the National Collegiate Fastpitch Homerun Record 2006-2009
In their 2006 season, South Puget Sound Community College’s Women’s Fastpitch team hit 135 homeruns in 52 games, and shattered the homerun record for all college softball held, by the University of Arizona’s Division I team, of 126 homeruns in 69 games.
Home of one of the largest collections of Japanese maple trees in the world
Grower Frank Byles donated part of his extensive private collection of Japanese maples to the college in 2007. The more than 200 trees are not only a source of pride and beauty on campus, they are a living teaching tool for our horticulture students.
Winner of national and regional awards
From 2000 - 2013, South Puget Sound Community College has been honored with nearly 30 awards from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR), including five gold, 12 silver and six bronze regional Medallion Awards; and two gold, two silver and two bronze national Paragon Awards.
