GRADUATION CEREMONY

Rehearsal for this event will be at 2:00 pm on June 14 in the gym. Rehearsal is not mandatory.

PLEASE ARRIVE AT THE GYM NO LATER THAN 5:30 PM

PARKING

Parking permits are not required. Parking lots “D” and “29” are best suited to park closer to the ceremony. A drop-off area for graduates and guests with limited mobility is available in parking lot “D” . Arrive early for best possible parking and seating. Please refer to the map on the back of this page.

CHECK-IN REQUIRED

You must check in by 5:30 PM at the table located inside the gymnasium, Building 31. There, you will check in and pick up your card that lists your name and degree you are earning. During the ceremony, you will hand this card to the person who will read your name. Make certain your name is written exactly as you want it to be announced.

PROCESSIONAL

Staff members will help you line up for the processional beginning promptly at 5:30 PM. The processional order is: 1) stage guests, 2) administrators and faculty, 3) graduates in single file. Ushers will provide direction throughout the ceremony. You will receive further instructions when you arrive at the gym that evening.

RECESSIONAL

The ceremony will end with the formal recessional. The president will lead the platform party from the stage. Please remain in your seats until the platform party has cleared the area. Once the platform party has exited, the ceremony has officially concluded and you may then greet your guests. The ceremony traditionally lasts until 7:30 p.m.

PHOTOS

A professional photographer will take a photo as you exit the stage after receiving your diploma. A free wallet-size photo will be emailed to you within two week of the ceremony. With that you will also receive information about placing additional orders. The photographer will be available prior to the ceremony for those graduates who wish to have a portrait taken in cap and gown. The photographer will be available from 3:00– 5:00 and will operate on a first come, first served basis.

SEATING FOR GUESTS

Ushers are available to assist with open seating for guests. Special seating for those who need disability accommodations is available at the ceremony. Be sure to register for commencement and identify if you have any guests who need disability accommodations

RECEPTION

A reception will be held in your honor following the ceremony in the area next to building 32. Light refreshments will be served. Graduates and guests are cordially invited to attend.

IN THE EVENT OF RAIN

No change will occur. Please bring necessary precautions such as umbrellas, towels to wipe chairs, etc.

TELEVISION

The ceremony will be taped by TCTV. A schedule of viewing times will be available on the web after June 18.

BOOKSTORE – GRADUATION REGALIA & PRODUCTS

The campus bookstore has caps and gowns for sale. Purchase early to ensure proper size & fit.

LOCKER ROOM AVAILABILITY

Locker rooms for showering and changing clothes are available in building 31.  Locker space is not available.

The campus bookstore has caps and gowns for sale.     Purchase early to ensure proper size & fit.  The bookstore will also have available at the graduation ceremony refreshments, snacks, memorabilia, single-use cameras, sundries, batteries, and depending on the weather, ponchos, umbrellas, or sunscreen.
