Accounting Lab

The Accounting Lab is a place where students study and work on their Accounting homework. During the 5:30p—6:30p time slot, the Lab assistant conducts one-on-one tutoring on a drop-in basis. During the remaining hours of the Accounting Lab, the Lab Assistant acts as a resource person available to answer questions from anyone who is in the Lab studying, but does not devote his or her time exclusively to any one person.

Counselors are available to help students learn how to be more successful in class and with homework. We can teach students test taking strategies, how to manage test anxiety, time management, how to set and achieve realistic goals, and study techniques. We are your study skill coaches on campus! This type of study skills counseling is available by appointment or during our drop-in hours. We also offer workshops each quarter on different success strategy topics. Call, email, or drop-in to schedule an appointment or to meet with a counselor during drop-in service hours. eTutoring
The Western eTutoring Consortium provides free online tutoring for writing to currently enrolled students. The e-Writing Lab allows you to submit a draft of your paper to a tutor, ask for specific feedback, and receive a tutor's response within 24-48 hours. You can also submit eQuestions and a tutor will respond to specific questions within 48 hours (usually sooner).

Closed Saturdays and Sundays
We may not be open Saturdays and Sundays, but we provide 24/7 access to our online databases and e-books from home. You can access most of our online resources using your 9-digit student or employee ID number. You also have 24/7 access to reference assistance through our “Ask Here” service- click on “Ask Here” on the library webpage. During our open hours, a librarian is available to assist you with finding resources, citing an article or book, or your reference questions.

Professional/Technical Students Pursuing an Associate of Applied Science Degree/Certificate
If the student has declared and is registered in an AAS degree or certificate program, he/she may qualify for specially funded tutoring assistance through the Carl D. Perkins Vocational & Technical Education Act. If a student is enrolled in an AAS/certificate class but has not officially declared an AAS/certificate program or is not coded with Enrollment Services as an AAS/certificate student, the student should go to Enrollment Services to declare his/her intention as a professional/technical major. Once the student has declared intent, he/she should see the instructor of the class in which assistance is needed.

The Science Tutoring Center (35-310) offers free walk-in tutoring in chemistry, physics and biology. Schedules are posted in Building 35, and with science instructors throughout the college.
