Course Reserves

 

Course Reserves provide access to course readings and materials for the educational programs at South Puget Sound Community College. They are print, media or electronic materials selected by faculty for use in a specific course. Reserve materials can include books, book chapters, textbooks, journal articles, maps, old exams, instructor's notes, and homework solutions necessary for course work.

Print and Media Reserves Guidelines

The following materials may be placed on print reserve:

  • SPSCC  library books and media items (DVDs, videos)
  • Personal copies of books or DVDs (supplied by instructors)
  • Solutions, handbooks, lecture notes, class readings, etc. (supplied by instructors)
  • Exams/quizzes from previous semesters (supplied by instructors)
  • Course syllabi

Electronic Reserves Guidelines

The following materials may be placed on electronic reserve for non-consecutive quarters under Educational Fair Use:

  • Non-copyright materials such as solutions, handbooks, lecture notes, class readings, etc. (supplied by instructors)
  • Excerpts from government publications
  • An excerpt from a book that constitutes a limited and reasonable amount of the total work
  • Course syllabi
  • Journal and newspaper articles
