March 17: Choir to Give Voice to Works of "Mozart and More"

The South Puget Sound Community College Concert Choir and the Puget Sound Community Choir will join voices on Tuesday, March 17 for "Mozart and More." Olympia Symphony Orchestra Conductor Huw Edwards will be a special guest, as well as some of the Symphony musicians. Pianist Jennifer Herman will perform a solo. Hermann will also provide piano accompaniment, along with Patrice Barnett, for Choir Director Molly McNamara,

The concert beings at 7 p.m. on the Kenneth J. Minnaert Center for the Arts Main Stage. Tickets are free. Donations can be made at the door.

 

March 20: Jazz Series Hosts an "Evening of Jazz and Northwest Cuisine"

The South Puget Sound Community College Jazz Series has the perfect pairing with the presentation of "An Evening of Jazz and and Northwest Cuisine" on Friday, March 20.  The event features Windham Hill recording artist Scott Cossu and Chefs Treacy Kreger and Christine Ciancetta.

Set in the Kenneth J. Minnaert Center for the Arts Black Box Theater, the first food-and-wine pairing begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by Cossu's first set at 7:30 p.m.  The next pairing will be served during the set break.

Seating is limited. Tickets are $40 for general admission; $30 for seniors, students, faculty and military with ID. Tickets are available online at OlyTix.org, by visitng the Washington Center for the Performing Arts or by call the Washingotn Center Box Office at (360) 753-8586.

 

March 21: College Orchestra Keys Up Classic Composers and Compositions

The South Puget Sound College Orchestra returns to the Kenneth J. Minnaert Center for the Arts Main Stage on Saturday, March 21, to perform Bach, Schubert, Respighi and Copland for its winter quarter concert, led by Music Professor Charles "Chip" Schooler.

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 genreal admission and is free for all SPSCC students, staff and faculty.  Ticketsare available online at OlyTix.org, or by visiting or calling the Washington Center for the Performing Arts Box Office, (360) 753-8586.
