Dec 19th, 2014   SPSCC Artist and Lecture Series Brings Author Terry McMillan

South Puget Sound Community College welcomes best-selling author Terry McMillan as part of the college’s 2014-15 Artist and Lecture Series. McMillan will be on campus Thursday, Feb. 5 at 7:30 p.m. on the Kenneth J. Minnaert Center for the Arts Mainstage for “An Evening with Terry McMillan.”

Dec 12th, 2014   SPSCC Student Films Get First Showcase Event

South Puget Sound Community College film students are ready for their close-ups – and they’ll get them on Dec. 16 at the first Student Short-Film Showcase.

The showcase will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. at the Kenneth J. Minnaert Center for the Arts Main Stage, and features eight short films written, directed and produced by SPSCC Introduction to Film Production students. The event is free and open to the public.

Nov 4th, 2014   Sherman Alexie Up Next SPSCC Artist and Lecture Series

South Puget Sound Community College welcomes Native American author Sherman Alexie as the next speaker in the 2014-15 Artist and Lecture Series. Alexie will speak from his popular book, “The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian,” on Thursday, Nov. 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the Kenneth J. Minnaert Center for the Arts Main Stage.

Oct 8th, 2014   SPSCC awarded $2.25 million grant for student success initiatives

South Puget Sound Community College has received a five-year, $2.25 million Title III Strengthening Institutions Grant from the U.S. Department of Education.  The grant, the largest single grant in the college’s history, was announced by Congressman Denny Heck, D-10th District, at the college’s Oct. 4 Foundation event, The Experience.
