South Puget Sound Faculty Ready for Gallery Showcase
South Puget Sound Community College art faculty are showcasing their wide range of works in the Kenneth J. Minnaert Center for the Arts Gallery.
The exhibit, which begins on Nov. 19 and runs through Dec. 11, will feature drawings, paintings, ceramics, printmaking and other mixed media. This biennial exhibit will offer a glimpse into the creative lives of South Puget Sound Community College art instructors Joe Batt, Melinda Cox, Robin Ewing, Colleen Gallagher, Carol Hannum, Sequoia Miller, Shaw Osha and Jane Stone.
Batt, who teaches sculpture, ceramics and drawing this winter, will exhibit both ceramic work and drawings. Cox, who teaches painting, will also exhibit drawings. Ewing, an instructional technician, will display her ceramic works, and Gallagher, who teaches ceramics and drawing, will display both media as well. Hannum, who teaches design, watercolor painting and printmaking, will show her mixed-media watercolors. Miller, who teaches a pottery wheel class, will exhibit his ceramics, as will Stone, who also teaches ceramics, as well as drawing and Introduction to Art. Shaw Osha will show paintings as well, but is not teaching winter quarter.
The Minnaert Center Gallery is open Thursday and Fridays from noon to 4 p.m. and by appointment. An opening reception will be held Thursday, Nov. 19 from noon to 1 p.m. in the gallery.
