Colin Macduff

When an accident cost alumnus Colin Macduff part of a finger, he used his training in welding and computer aided drafting to make lemonade out of lemons. In the process, he has put himself on a new career path and is helping fellow amputees around the world.

Matt and Tessa Smith: Up and Comer

Olympia natives Matt and Tessa Smith each found their calling at South Puget Sound Community College. Now with years of experience in their chosen fields, they are putting their passion into local small business community. Through it all each has supported the other’s successes. It’s a hip and local love story.

Captain Simpson

Captain Harold Simpson first learned how to support a mission as a Navy Supply Corps officer in World War II. Now retired from a long and successful Navy career, Simpson is supporting students in reaching their educational goals through the Harold W. and Barbara A. Betaque Family Scholarship.
