Because of cold temperatures preventing necessary concrete work, the Crosby Road and Mottman Road entrance closures at South Puget Sound Community College, originally slated to begin this weekend to allow for gate installation, have been postponed.

Bent, written by Martin Sherman and directed by Don Welch, is presented by the South Puget Sound Community College Drama Department and is preformed in special agreement with Samuel French INC. The play takes place at the Kenneth J. Minnaert Center for the Arts.

The show runs Nov. 12-14 and Nov. 19-21 at 8 p.m.; and on Nov. 15 and Nov. 22 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12.50 for the general public and $10 for student, faculty and staff. South Puget Sound students can purchase tickets for $2.50 with their IDs. Tickets are available at the Washington Center box office at (360) 753-8586.

Expanding Your Horizons, an annual conference for girls and young women in grades 6-8 designed to promote math, science and technology, will take place in March this year after traditionally being held the first Saturday of November.

Expanding Your Horizons, traditionally held on the first Saturday in November, is moving to the first Saturday in March. The Planning Committee is moving the event from Nov. 7 this year to March 6, 2010.

South Puget Sound Community College art faculty are showcasing their wide range of works in the Kenneth J. Minnaert Center for the Arts Gallery.

The exhibit, which begins on Nov. 19 and runs through Dec. 11, will feature drawings, paintings, ceramics, printmaking and other mixed media. This biennial exhibit will offer a glimpse into the creative lives of South Puget Sound Community College art instructors Joe Batt, Melinda Cox, Robin Ewing, Colleen Gallagher, Carol Hannum, Sequoia Miller, Shaw Osha and Jane Stone.

South Puget Sound Community College Certified Business Advisor Celia Nightingale continues to win accolades for her work with the Washington Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the small businesses it serves.

Nightingale was honored at the 29^th Annual American’s Small Business Development Center conference in Orlando, Florida, earning the State Star as Washington State’s representative.

South Puget Sound Community College is pleased to debut its 2009-10 theatre season with Ladies of the Alamo, which began last weekend and runs through Nov. 8.
